Kirtley-Cole recently teamed with MTorres America and Lance Mueller Architects to construct the new MTorres America Innovation Center.
The new 66,506 SF building is comprised of a 3-story, 31,625 SF structural steel office building and a 33,881 SF premanufactured metal building housing a manufacturing center with loading docks and 2 overhead bridge cranes. Other project features include car charging stations, conference rooms with operable partitions, access controls, and interactive conference scheduling systems.
Sitework on the sloped, 15-acre site required the movement of 60,000 cubic yards of material to prepare the building pad, as well as create a 193-stall parking lot, outdoor staging areas and room for future expansion.
The Innovation Center includes spaces for research and development on robotic applications in the fields of composite manufacturing, drilling and filling and collaborative robot technology in assembly. The Innovaction Center is a critical enabler to design and build systems that are safer, more efficient and deliver the highest levels of productivity.
The Innovation Center is now home to 140 MTorres employees working in the areas of advanced engineering design services, process development expertise, manufacturing, assembly, test and integration of equipment, tooling and integrated systems.
